Saturday special: Steamed buns from Dorothy's Kitchen

These chinese steamed buns, with a pork or chicken filling, are available at Dorothy's Kitchen only on Saturdays, and usually sold out early in the afternoon.

These are probably the best steamed buns in Suva (comments welcome). I have a distinct preference for the pork ones (pictured above) ... but if pork isn't on your menu, the chicken buns are quite good.

If you've got a hankering for steamed buns during the week, Hot & Spicy Kitchen sells an edible chicken-filled bun.

Bula,
I am from Nadi and if possible, please write the location of the restaurant...

I was in Suva about 10 years ago for several months but still not quite sure about Suva..

I can't believe you are recommending Hot and Spicy Kitchen's steamed buns. I'm a huge fan of Hot and Spicy Kitchen but their steamed buns are a vile abomination. Cold, tasteless, and known to give one the runs. Do stay away at all costs!

As for people that do not eat pork you need to reform your religion like American Jews do, in other words an exception simply MUST be made for Chinese food.

We hear a lot of pap about how we need to respect all religions and their traditions, but anyone that choose chicken buns over pork buns is a fool.

Muslims and SDA's of Fiji, embrace "safe treyf" you'll be glad that you did!

I am trying to recall the name of the new restaurant along McGregor Road beside the Kiribati Embassy. Could you please provide this info? Have you eaten here yet?

Gave the steamed chicken buns from Hot and Spicy a whirl - they're just as terrible as stated by Kania Tiko.

I have to agree on the steamed buns from Hot n Spicy. The filling was a cold distasteful sludge that included peas and carrots?! Dorothy's kitchen gets my thumbs up.
